We bought this car for my daughter for Christmas. Since we couldn’t take it out of the package first we only found out the night before that the car doesn’t turn the front wheels. The car instead has a wheel in the middle of the front of the car on the bottom that turns when you back up. The problem is that when you put the car in reverse it only backs up to the right. So if you want to turn left you have to back up over and over and over until you have backed up 270 degrees. It’s like going around the block to get to your neighbor’s house. This would be all fine and good if the car was fast or cost about $38. But for anything over $100 the front wheels should turn. Heck there are cars out there that cost $50 and have turning front wheels.
In addition it makes it difficult for the car to turn when in reverse if on carpet (which most people have these days). The turn radius is about 8 feet, so nobody will be able to even get this to turn unless you make the care go forwards and then reverse about 18 times. This is probably really good for the electric motor too.
If this was not a gift from Santa I would be taking it back to the store. I don’t understand how stuff like this makes it out of testing at companies these days. It’s all about the dollar bill and not about stuff that really works. Yeah I know….that’s nothing new.
Please, don’t waste your money. This car is a piece of poop. Seriously.

Car doesn’t work. Mattel doesn’t answer phone on Christmas – sad child – expensive gift not to work. Do not buy this

Cute pink Vette big enough for Barbie, but looks are about it. It goes forward or backward with a built in turn. Kids have a difficult time figuring out how to get the car to go where they want it to go. You have to do a series of reverse turns to end up facing the direction you want to go.
This one sits it the closet.
