This is a super cute fabric, but I’d have to echo the sentiments of another reviewer who found the seat for $44 at Walmart. If you can pay $30 less, why wouldn’t you?
My issue with the seat (I am returning it), is that it is very narrow across the back. My 3 1/2 year old daughter didn’t fit into it at all. For the first time in my Mommy Life, I got sucked into the cute print instead of the actual features. It is a bare bones carseat, and for just $20 more, you can get a better and longer lasting booster seat with a 5 point harness (which becomes a best positioning booster up to 100lbs).
I am an online shopping freak, but car seats are definately something you need to go to the store for. Try it out, put your kid in it, make sure they’re comfortable, before you buy it.

I don’t really like this car seat I have a small SUV Jeep Liberty and it does not fit in there very comfortably I have to have the passenger seat pushed forward. So not comfy for the passenger. I cant wait to get my son out of this one when he turns one.. I think it would make a great forward facing car seat, so I am going to keep it for our other car, but hate it as a rear facing one. Does not recline enough my son, looks way uncomfortable when he falls asleep.. Does not seem cushy enough I had to add extra supports, just does not seem safe for a child under 1.. Not too easy to install either gave myself some bad scrapes trying to get the seat belt through and the other safety latches through.
So great forward facing not so great rear facing..

I was very happy with the price but have two major problems. In the rear facing position, the location of the strap release is too low into the seat and is difficult to reach it with your finger. Second, the buckle release button is very hard to depress. I don’t have really strong fingers but this is insanely hard to depress. I even had my friend try it to see if it was just me and she had a hard time as well. It is not my main carseat so I don’t use it every day but if I did I wouldn’t recommend it. My other carseat is a Brittax and I don’t have any problems depressing the button and the strap release button is located higher up so I don’t have problems.

I bought this car seat, because it was the Consumer Reports #2 rated car seat, and their “Best Buy.” The #1 seat costs three times as much, so this was a no-brainer. Or so I thought. This seat does NOT install well with the LATCH system, at least not the one in my Toyota Camry. Where all of our other seats took my husband a few minutes to properly install using LATCH, this seat took him well over 30 minutes. After it was done, I realized he’d forgotten to adjust the seatbelt straps to the proper height before installing the seat. So I tried to unlatch the car seat. I can’t do it. I am not a dainty woman, so there’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to unhook a car seat — even a somewhat difficult one — from the LATCH system on my own; I’ve done it plenty of times before with the other seats. The fact that we cannot easily move this car seat between cars is a big minus for me.
Also, the way the shoulder straps adjust is awkward at best. My daughter gets antsy when we try to make the necessary adjustments. Basically, only one side has “pull”. On most car seats, when you pull the strap to adjust, both shoulder straps move. The fact that on the Cosco the straps don’t move together makes it hard to tighten the shoulder straps properly without taking a lot of time and moving the baby around. And we all know how patient babies are…
I like that the car seat is lightweight. If I could get it in and out of the car easily, this would be a huge plus.
We’re going to end up moving this seat to my mom’s car, which is old and doesn’t use LATCH. I imagine seat belt installation will be a lot easier. I just hope, on days when she has my daughter, she doesn’t encounter too much difficulty adjusting the shoulder straps.
I really wish I liked this car seat more. To get a safe baby item rated that highly for this price is a rarity.
